Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, offers a position of Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) of Modern Taiwan Studies (see attachment), applications for which can now also be sent via e-mail (see attachment). The selected candidate will also become vice-director of the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan (ERCCT) in Tübingen. This is an important step in the further institutionalization of the Taiwan studies field. Please inform suitable candidates of this offer and encourage them to apply! Position as Assistant (Junior) Professor of Modern Taiwan Studies in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Tübingen        
The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Tübingen invites applications for the position of assistant (junior) (W 1, non-tenure track) professor of Modern Taiwan Studies. The selected candidate should specialize in social science-based research on contemporary Taiwan and cross-strait studies. The position is initially limited to four years, with the possibility of extension of two years. The University intends to fill the position by April 1st, 2018.
The selected candidate is expected to carry out research on modern and contemporary Taiwan and cross-strait relations independently. He/she will be requested to teach four to six hours per week (during the winter and summer terms). He/she will teach in German or English. The University of
Tübingen expects that non-native applicants are willing to learn German during their time of employment.
Requirements for appointment are an excellent PhD dissertation in a relevant topic, international publications, evidence of third-party grants (fellowship/scholarship) and teaching experience.
Tübingen University is particularly interested in applications from female candidates for this position and therefore strongly encourages women to apply.
